Michael Jackson has had to endure over 20years of malicious falsehoods and rumours. Post 25th June 2010, the media frequently refers to him unkindly and inappropriately for no other reason than it appears to be a catchy headline or normal for them to write sensationalised articles.
The debunked allegations are referred in the majority of the articles written when it was evident from the trial that there was no merit in the allegations.
There was a media circus at his trial, unprecedented numbers of press well over 2000 accredited reporters. The reporting of the trial was biased, on 13th June 2005 prior to the verdict; the media gave heavy emphasis to a guilty verdict.
Even now years after the acquittal and largely because of the imbalance in reporting, people don’t know why the prosecution evidence was so flawed, or why the case was brought in the first place.
People know that he was innocent and he was acquitted.
However the media bias and suspicion caused by the allegations continues to cloud his reputation.
Michael Jackson was the greatest entertainer of his time, was an innovator, talented, a humanitarian, but above all of this he was a man, a loving father, brother, and son.
It seems that this injustice needs to be corrected – it’s about time.
